BETRAYAL
Ah, the bitter rancid taste of betrayal. Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth ( as apposed to a stainless steel spoon which however valuable it might have been several generations ago is now no more than a mere commodity ) and were sheltered from the real world with extraordinary skill, you have experienced it. And no, not mere betrayal such as a friend failing to pay back the bail money you posted to keep his sweet young ass out of jail where he would become everyone’s favorite girlfriend. Or even an ex-wife promising to play fair in a divorce and then stabbing you in the back not a mere time or two but repeatedly. I’m talking about the betrayal of an institution. A betrayal that can ruin your entire financial plans of a lifetime or even ruin your life by taking away your freedom or placing your life in jail.

I have never experienced life altering betrayal outside of a divorce that indentured me into servitude for seventeen years. But that at least has an end. No, not real betrayal ( knock on wood!! ). I am paranoid enough to avoid trusting most people and organizations. I might be affected along with everyone else as we get into a nuclear war or the economy crashes or some other huge catastrophe, sure. But I have never trusted an employer to do much beyond what the law requires such as pay me what is due me from an hourly wage. I never went to work for an industry expecting to make a living wage or retire from it. I could have made a career from working from the Feds or a state government but didn’t trust them to remain solvent. I’m surprised they have this long. I never entered into a mortgage expecting to remain employed long enough to pay it off or the bankers not to foreclose on me. As it turns out I was dead wrong. I could already have been retired and had a house paid off.

Not everyone has been so lucky. Plenty of Union members were betrayed by their own organization in its quest for organizational survival. How about the homeowners that paid off their mortgage over thirty years, skimping and sacrificing and after it is paid off the bastards at the Federal Reserve in order to keep the whole evil game going slash interest rates and turn on the credit fire hose and in a few short years jack up the prices of all houses fall beyond what anyone can afford and the property taxes on the old houses get to the point where they are almost as bad as the former mortgage payment themselves. What a kick in the pants. A lifetime of plans down the crapper, from the guy that should be retired working at Wal-Mart as a greeter to the family forced to move from a lifetime location because property taxes got so high. A whole new generation is feeling what the old independent farmers felt a few decades ago. Corporate interests, government greed. Screw the little guy.

Recently there has been a few stories in the news about law enforcement officers getting the shaft for performing their jobs. Some border patrol officers getting in trouble over an encounter with illegals. Another peace officer supposedly by the same district attorney. Sorry, I’m a bit fuzzy on the details. I read the story a week ago and didn’t take notes. The details aren’t really important. The point is that people are outraged. How dare LEO’s get in trouble for protecting us, for doing their jobs! How dare illegal aliens have more rights than our boys in blue! A sense of betrayal by these guys, I’ll bet. Let me spell this out very clearly. They got a taste of what they had been dishing out. Don’t get me wrong. My dad was a cop most of his career. I had a taste of it myself. I am not against peace officers keeping the peace if they are abiding the law of the Constitution. But they are no longer doing that. They are protecting the government against the civilians and enforcing unjust laws, especially drug laws. They are no longer peace officers, they are an agent of a corrupt government. They ruin peoples lives. Not all prisoners are rapists and murderers. Those actually get less of a sentence than drug dealers and users. And most of those were non-violent. The violent ones get all of the press to back up the States propaganda.

Okay, I agree that the Border Patrol is really not involved to a large degree in denying citizens their rights. They are getting the wrong end of the stick. But in a way they are still deserving of the wrong turn they are getting. They are working for the FedGov. An oppressive organization. Now they are getting screwed by that government. I for one have a hard time getting all worked up over a Fascist agent or two being thrown to the wolves by their own kind. Sure, as individual people they are probably decent guys. They have families. So did Nazis. And, yes, it is the same thing. Every year we get more and more Fascist and anyone working for the oppressors, regardless of the innocence of their individual jobs, is part of the guilt. Sure, ATF agents stomping kittens and ruining a home at a 3 a.m. raid would deserve a tragic end more than a clerk at the Library Of Congress. But if said Library was bombed tomorrow I would have little sympathy for the workers. I would care more about the books.

This this being too harsh? Is it? Why? Every Attorney General prosecuting a case against a Federal Agent is too busy to screw over private citizens wishing to engage in harmless non-violent behavior, such as recreational drug use or trying to keep more of their own money they earned instead of seeing the IRS steal it and use it to kill our own soldiers with depleted uranium dust from our munitions ( I hold most younger soldiers innocent in this contribution to Fascism only because of their youth and ignorance- not that I would hesitate to shoot one in the Revolution ). Let’s save our outrage for the truly innocent victims. The civilians preyed on by our government. Or government sanctioned corporations. Or the government mandated Central Bank. Foot soldiers being caught in the game as pawns shouldn’t rate the same emotional outcry.

Interesting Post Jim. Puts a different perspective than Lou Dobbs over at CNN on the story.
If you want to see how militarized your local police are participate in a FEMA drill. I am a Ham radio Operator and got sucked into being the AARL emergency coodinator for my county. You just have no idea on how they all see YOU as the enemy.
Cops have a them and us attitude. They say that it's the civvies who cause it but that's BS.
Be very wary around cops. I know a bloke who got jailed for laughing at a private joke near a cop. The bitch accused him of laughing at her. He wasn't and refused to apologise. She caller her mates and they arrested him.
"Let’s save our outrage for the truly innocent victims. The civilians preyed on by our government."
It is the civilians who are the fascists. They are the ones who bleat about freedom of speech until someone says something they don't like. They are the ones who keep voting, the only reasons why the government puts druggies in jail, is because it gets them more votes then otherwise. People are fascist cunts who love to get the gov't to tell other people how to live, but want freedom to do what they want. Hell in many places your ability to run a business is restricted on Sundays, and for many people they like it like that.
In addition to the hard core desire of people to tell others how to live, as long as they get to do what they want [freedom defined], we get the majority of people who would gladly sell out their freedom for a bit of security. Hell they would sell out for just the illusion of security. Doesn't matter of a government action doesn't help, or makes things worse, as long as it looks like you are doing something.
Except for maybe that 1 percent who are truly libertarian, everyone else pretty much deserves to feel the boot of oppression on their neck.
Nightshift says....I am going out on a ledge here but I am a law enforcement officer. Yes, there are many authority happy prick cops on the streets but there are many good ones. If we are so facist does that mean I should not have put child molesters in jail. I worked sex crimes for several years. I have cleared suspects who were dirt bags, but did not do the crime that a civilian signed a charge on them for. Witnesses do make mistakes. When I was on the beat I did not make it a habit of trying to bury folks with tickets. If you are at fault for a traffic accident, many cops will write you for the cause....I did not do that, the accident report says Bubba ran a stop sign....let him deal with his insurance. I know officers that can wear out a ticket book in a shift...I went through one about every 2-3 months. I even had one of my officers years ago that was one of the power hungry types "You will respect my authority". I tried for a while to correct his attitude. He made a bad arrest one night and I signed the guys bond so it would cost him nothing. That officer was terminated in a week. I agree that alot of citizens can be a problem too. I arrested a black guy for beating the crap out of his wife. Of course he screamed racism. Before he was booked his Local NAACP chapter president uncle was at the station raising heck. I thought "here we go". I showed uncle a picture of the wife...obvious bruising.....he looked at his nephew and said "throw his ass in jail". I respect that. I'll quit ranting, but stereotypes wear me out.

Unintended Consequences by John Ross.
I agree with most of what you said and a lot of what Nightshift said. In these parts the county cops are ok. Most of them try to protect and serve, but into town and expect to receive a different "sevice". When I read your post I thought of this http://hobbes.ncsa.uiuc.edu/onsheepwolvesandsheepdogs.html
How about the guys in the military of years ago who were promised lifetime medical care at no cost at military hospitals, also commisary priviledges and other perks for serving twenty years or more (sometime, check and see the life expectancy of retired military, especially enlisted men)
only to have it all taken away? About cops, they are necessary for most folks, but the cost, in freedom, is getting higher all the time.
