SAME ALL OVER AGAIN
This weekend was the return of normal weather, if you don’t count the foot of snow. At least it was normal temperature wise. I had my Krautland Minion email me and bribe me to go see “The Road”. He was going to foot the bill just to get a review. Hey, some people can spare that kind of money on a whim, so who was I to argue? Okay, I can spare that kind of money, but being frugal is a lifetime effort and I can’t jump out of that rut any time soon. But, he’s been a very generous minion and I love him like the red headed step child I never had. So I’m going along, even getting exited about it. Saturday morning has a few cracks in the clouds, the forecast is for afternoon snow, so I shovel out the truck and away we go. Chores/errands, then to the movies and back before the storm hits. Well, of course the forecast is totally off and it snows in the morning rather than in the afternoon. By 11 we head back to the compound, just ahead of the accumulation of wet slush. I don’t have snow tires on the truck, so anything over an inch or two is iffy. Barely made it back. Then, we figure, okay, let’s go tomorrow. Only one problem. They aren’t showing the movie anywhere in town! They show “Ninja Assassin” but not “The Road”. What kind of self respecting Mormon outpost is this joint anyway? Bastards. So, personal note, I’ll tear up the check or send back the money order unless some miracle brings the movie into town next week. And thank you for thinking of me.

The next best thing would have been to watch a DVD, but with the clouds I figure it is better to just read anyway ( plus, the DVD player is on the last legs-not that hitting it when it refused to work had anything to do with it ). I read a library book ( The Pawn-actually quite good ) and then started in on “Dr. Mary’s Monkey”. How can you resist a title that ties in the JFK assassination with the AIDS epidemic? Anyway, I’m half way through the book and it is a really fun read. Nothing to take overly serious, but a fun theory. It brought up a fact I was unaware of. I’m sure all you old bastards are scratching your head wondering why I think this is noteworthy, but to me it is a new piece of information. The polio vaccine that millions of school children took was loaded with contamination in the form of cancer causing monkey virus. Leading scientists of the time tried to warm about it but obviously this wasn’t something the then vice President Tricky Dick who was in charge of the vaccine wanted on his resume. The theory is that the explosion of soft tissue cancer years later was far worse than the polio ever was and the Boomers that got the poisoned vaccine got cancer in far greater numbers than was the norm. Polio was killing thirty thousand a year, and decades later just one out of the four cancers was killing hundreds of thousands.

This is all tied into the monkey virus leading to AIDS, but I haven’t gotten to that part yet. I’m still reading about Dr. Mary’s death from a particle accelerator and the tie in with the JFK killing. As I said, a fun read. If anything, I don’t think the author is paranoid enough, since he doesn’t place the blame as malicious but accidental. Although perhaps he is right. Why try to kill off a generation back in the 1950’s? We still had resource and energy surpluses. And the reckless immigration policies used to save Social Security were still a ways off. We had yet begun to collapse. Unlike now where there is everything to be gained by killing off the surplus population. But regardless of if then it was accidental and now it is purposeful ( laced vaccines ), the point is that our government has been intentionally creating Frankenstein viruses since the end of WWII ( with the help of a few evil Japanese dudes that just got done experimenting on POW’s ). It might have been defensive then because of the Communist threat, but it is now defensive because of too many people threatening the elites standard of living. It is touching that you still might think that your government loves you, just keep living in that Happy Place ( Make The Bad Men Go Away!! ). And stop reading me or you might get paranoid and unhappy. They are out to get you.

They don't make snow-tires anymore Jim. That was back before radial tires became standard. Tire chains are a good item to have though. You and #4 could split the job - you go out and start the truck to warm it up and she could put the chains on;)
Some times it helps to leave the snow in the back of the truck, The extra weight helps for traction.
On the other hand;It might only help to get you further from home, then get stuck. Chose your peril.
So sorry!
I went back and read his blog, maybe he meant shovel out the truck, to un-bury it to drive.......If that's the case disregard my previous statement.
Am I getting old and cranky and out of touch with the real world??????
I have read 102 of 287 pages of The Road.

sigh I have not decided whether to keep reading this drivel, or fall to the floor screaming and gnawing my feet in frustration.
On my planet one dies of hypothermia or starvation etc but this heroic father and child trudge on years after TEOWAWKI despite all odds ......
IMO the Buckshot Maxxis Mudder
is a great mud/snow tire. Low road
noise.
