Before I start today, a heads up. Doomer porn over at

I haven’t read it yet, but the price is right.
I love the Sportsman’s Guide as I’ve told you before. I especially love when they sell multiples of items at ridiculously low prices. This last catalog was full of more great bargains than usual. So of course I thought of stockpiling for either post-apocalypse barter or your Alpha Strategy.
Here is an insane bargain, thirty pairs of mittens for fifty cents each.

Very ugly winter hats, a retarded version of the Russian type, a buck each.

Wool scarves, a dozen for $20.

A half dozen thermal bottoms at $15.

Five thermal tops, $20.

Ten military pants at $2.50 each-cheaper than the thrift store.

Ten long sleeve shirts at $1.50 each.

Five pairs cold weather insulated mittens ( I think it is similar to the type I ordered last year, which, along with a wool mitten liner, I’ve used in sub-zero temps )

You are welcome, please send half of all money saved to me. Since the above company gives me no commission. Nor should they since then they would have to raise prices. A great company, give them your business.

Bastard!
Sportsman's Guide is pretty cool. I wanted to buy something from them, but their shipping pissed me off. I think it's the kind that graduates up with the amount of stuff you buy. It makes sense in a "I'm responsible for me" kind of way...
out of respect for the lady readers I have removed my previous comments.
Let's get back to Bison's Blog
The mittens are cotton. Cotton sucks for cold weather and wet cold weather in particular.
The site "snare -trap-survive" is a superb site for actual practical skills. I cannot recommend his work too highly. He was once associated with Buckshots Camp but that hasn't been so for several years now. They are two separate companies and the current poor reputation of Buckshots Camp should not be applied to Bruce.
