Before we start today, I simply must comment on the recent crazed rumblings of malcontents far and wide on the report earlier this week that almost half the US population doesn’t pay any income tax. Just be thankful I’m only doing this for one paragraph rather than a whole article. But of course you know I enjoy getting this kind of worked up about inconsequential matters. Okay, I understand if you are one of the half still paying income taxes this kind of chaps your ass. But after you are done feeling sorry for yourself ( an emotion I can relate to ), look at it logically. First of all, it means all those poor idiots aren’t making enough to live on. Are you envious of a fast food worker with twenty hours a week minimum wage? Second, anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances is paying twenty five to fifty percent taxes if they engage in any activity that is part of the economy. Even your drug dealers buy food and ammunition at the regular stores. Every transaction has dozens to hundreds of hidden taxes and I believe you would hard pressed to find one that didn’t have a total under that 25% minimum. We are all being raped by taxes, aboveboard and hidden, and inflation. Those making over a sustenance level have an additional ten plus percent added on. Small potatoes. Look at the bright side, you’re not part of the welfare horde.

I find it hilarious ( okay, I’m easily amused ) that Obammy is playing the “stop the nuclear terrorist threat” card at another meeting of the minds. Just like the climate change gathering where millions of pounds of greenhouse gases were generated in travel for the supreme idiots of the universe to get together and almost agree that something should be done, so too is this gathering nothing more than a total waste of resources and time. Ohhh! Mercy sakes alive, I am simply besides myself with worry and grief. What if a terrorist nuked my Oreo ass? Relax, Obammy. It isn’t terrorists you have to worry about. Just look in the mirror in the morning. Let’s see…how do I break this to the jingoistic, irrational, simple minded idiots out there? The US is the gravest threat to the world in terms of nuclear war. We are the only nation ever to use them. We are already pouring tons of fallout into the atmosphere from depleted uranium munitions in the middle east ( both Oil Wars ). But the most worrisome of all is the simple fact that the US is the most desperate with the most to lose. We are the most dependant on oil. Yes, some nations use as much energy per capita as we do, but rather than using it for basic survival, they use it to enrich themselves. They could cut back without famine and rioting. We have been cutting back, but we don’t generate enough energy ourselves to keep our population alive without some imports.

Put simply, once our economy tanks totally, oil imports are curtailed and suddenly we are at the point where there is not enough winter heat AND food to go around. Forget gasoline. That is the minor problem. We could get along with a lot less. The importance of oil is that it feeds us and warms our energy inefficient dwellings. Since our military is dependent on oil as much as the rest of our society, and since at some point before our oil supply falls too much we must steal more oil, it is only a matter of time before we engage in another theatre of operations. Saudi Arabia? Mexico? I don’t know. But I do know that we don’t have the resources for a major conventional war. Not to pull us out of a depression and not to steal more of “our” oil. At some point, as we start to face too much resistance and overreach, we will go nuclear. We have no other choice. We can’t expand the military without the oil and ore we used to have. The draft is a paper tiger, the fuel to run our tanks is a more immediate problem. The most dangerous time in sixty years as far as nuclear war, and it isn’t because of terrorists. It is because we will soon be so desperate we will push the button to survive a little while longer. Managed die-off might just be with nuclear fallout.
