) to turn imaginary physical metal into imagined wealth. I don’t expect you to take that without a grain of salt however, since I’ll be the first to admit that is based on mostly fear and paranoia. So, even though there is hanky panky afoot there are also other factors influencing the price. One is that the amount of available gold has been declining for ten years. Taking into account that the price of gold has increased every year for the last decade while at the same time the amount of gold produced has declined at the same time, one can easily conclude we are running out of the stuff here in northern Nevada ( yes, yes, running out being relative- we could have plenty left ), which is the global number two or three producer. Right now the mines are going after the low grade ore while the price is high, so you can imagine how high the expenses are to get gold out of the ground since we have mostly already picked out the bigger nuggets and are now going after the microscopic stuff. Just like other metals, we’ve gotten to the point where the only stuff left needs huge machines to extract very diffuse concentrations.*

The right to work weapon is worse than you are thinking. Hell, I would love a vacation. But more than likely, that won’t excuse you from any obligations you have. Child support? You must still pay even as you are denied permission to work. Back taxes? No way you are going to stop payment. College loans? No deferment for you as that would mean that the taxpayer supported school will experience a cash flow problem. Property taxes? Hey, thanks for paying that mortgage for 28 years, we’ll take the house back now. In short, the no-work list will be used to devastate financially all enemies of the state ( Enemy of the State
). They are tightening the noose. Why do you think the anti-bankruptcy laws were enacted? They don’t want you to start over with a clean slate, but to be forever shackled with debt. They might even hold your pension or Social Security payments hostage. The no work rule is already here and had been here in milder forms.
Look at getting into professional schools, getting promoted and sometimes even hired at many larger companies or governemnt jobs?
And it could get worse. I had career damaged by advocating equal opportunity years ago, not letting some of the people being more equal then others.
And in recent years speak of the constitution from time to time.
I actually was not hired for a coveted park systems job where picking up dog shit could have been on the agenda. I was just not quite PC enough rather then anything they knew I could have said or wrote.
Expect jobs to be handed out not on the basis of ability but other factors.
I got hire for a rather good job a few years ago by a women who was retiring in less then a year and knew the score. She gave be a break which some of my new co workers were not happy with...
Other times I have been offered a job likely because they needed a token.
And people think gov bennies can't be denied, think again apps get lost, deleted, roadblocks and hurdles can be thrown up, letters are sent out where they send button was never clicked on.
You best chance is to be a version of JIM. BTW child support, taxes both income if owed and real estate can sink you too.
What is left of my middle class lifestyle is more out of a third world version. Anywhere south of the border Jim would not seem that eccentric at all!!

First, kudos are in order for your use of the word "diffuse".
As much as Alex Jones can sound like Foghorn Leghorn when he gets worked up, he does come up with some good solid stuff.
Now, I don't know if I've sullied THIS particular site with my Working Of The Math, so here it is. A minimum wage job sans the standard 30% deductions means your take home pay is about $5 an hour. Now let's say your wages are then garnished, by the IRS, or for student loans, child support, any of a number of reasons. They're tapping you lightly, say 25%. But it's from the gross. So, 55% of your pay is gone-O. That $8 an hour is now down to less than $4 an hour. Even on a relatively elite, $10 an hour job you're down under $5.
Now, I suspect, Lord Bison, that the only reasons you're still on the treadmill is, they'll take your land otherwise, and frankly you like to work. Working beats the hell out of sitting around all day, it gives you a purpose. But primarily it comes down to, right now, stop working and there go your land and preps. So you hang on....

Another way of calculating garnishment comes from the IRS, the way I understand they calculate it is, the first earnings equivalent to 30 hours a week at minimum wage, is yours. Any above that is fair game.
So you're allowed to live on that 30 hours a week at minimum wage pays.
But of course that's calculated on the gross, figure on 30% being taken out as it is from every working slob's paycheck.
Let's also assume that no one ELSE piles in there for their lb of flesh ....
I get $168 a week. Can you live on $168 a week? I know I sure can, in style! But you probably can't. And I can't if I have to maintain the accoutrements necessary to hold a job, like a car, work clothes, etc.
However, this "official line" on garnishment may not be helpful after all, because it doesn't conform with what I'm hearing on the street. What I'm hearing on the street is guys being left with $50 a week, or even $50 a month. Illegal as hell, but no amount of fighting in court and by sending letters, etc gets the leeches coordinated and most of them to back off, they just all pile on and suck away.
This is where a guy has to decide, does he have property worth keeping or does he disappear? Go shine shoes for a living, become a rogue door-to-door car-washer, etc.?
A no work list will be handled the same way illegal immigrants get work now. In some areas men stand outside Home Depot and hold signs advertising services. Craigslist accounts for most job ads in my area. Someone who works hard and cheap can always find work. The tighter the pigs grasp the people the more their control slips. The commodity producers and buyers are allowed to use their inside knowledge when trading.
Since they are only a portion of an production stream, they are a very small amount of money when compared to other financial instruments.
