Before I talk about guns today, a subject sure to get most nipples tingling which is half the reason I step into that minefield, I simply must respond to a loyal minion’s comment. “That's a pretty crappy thing to say, Jim. If you really believe that, you should be acting on it, instead of talking trash behind a blog. What's the difference between someone who agrees with the act, and someone who carries it out? Guts. It's irresponsible to say garbage like that if you don't believe it, and if you do, well... well... I lost my train of thought. But I'm not impressed, to say the least. Aren't we supposed to be better than them? Aren't we the only thing standing between them and their goals? I'm fizzing out. But in a nutshell, that statement about "deserving it" was B.S. You don't know those two, the judge and rep, and I'm fairly certain you'll agree with me and recant that worthless-ass statement in the morning, when you're sober. Thanks for an otherwise wonderful blog, Jim. Now that TOR is going underground, my "usuals" are shrinking, so straighten up and fly right.”

Golly, where to begin? First off, I take no umbrage at being a spectator. Just like most of you sit in your La-Z-Boy chair and suck in football hours at a time, mindlessly rooting for your home team ( because God knows if you don’t cheer them on from in front of your TV they simply can’t win ) I sit in front of the computer and mindlessly root for the downfall of our government. Any act pushing it towards that “state” gets my approval. Yes, I know what we have is better than the collapse ( the actual state of collapse will be worse, I’m not sure about afterwards ). But I can’t help myself. Far too many worthless asshats are sucking off the fat of others and I hate them. Look at it like an ex-wife. The bitch deserves to die, and it would be nice to kill her even if your life would be even worse afterwards. That’s kind of how I feel about the federal government and all its little lackey sub-units of control ( and I hate the central bank even more ). I’ll say it again. I won’t help the collapse. I‘m only rooting for it. Helping the collapse just puts me in jail where I’ll die ( more on that below in the main article ).

Next, the statement about the scumbag judge deserving to die. Let’s go back a bit through history. Hans is a patriotic citizen. He loves his wife, adores his children and thinks while Der Fuhrer might be a bit extreme, he is just what the country needs. In short, Hans is a really nice guy. He does his duty and herds the Jews into cattle cars for disposal. Boris is a patriotic citizen. He loves his wife, adores his children and thinks the Communist Revolution is just what the country needs. In short, Boris is a really nice guy. He does his duty and raids homes at 3AM to jail dissidents that threaten the stability of the state. Gomer is a patriotic citizen. He loves his wife and adores his children. He thinks that the only way to continue the American Way Of Life is to bring law and order about the land. He is proud to jail the unruly. While the drug laws might seem a bit harsh, he still thinks that society can’t run amok and needs his guidance.

I’ll spell it out for those that don’t get it. Being a really nice guy doesn’t excuse you when you ruin innocent lives. Be it imprisoning Jews, exiling to Siberia the dissidents or prosecuting those guilty only of victimless crimes. Federal judges are friggin scumbags. I won’t call for their execution, but I’ll sure root others on if they remove these cankers.

Today, concealed weapons permits and the collapse. Is it a good idea to beg the state for one of your rights, pay them for the privilege and jump through hoops to protect yourself? At first blush, it would appear so. As the collapse nears, violence increases. Before, the permanently unemployed were channeled into drug dealing to make ends meet. This helped out the CIA meet its funding issues. And kept the ghetto relatively quiet, since Home Slice got a taste of the American Pie. But now, great swaths of middle America is being laid off, and they would never dream of breaking the law to keep going. Until their assets prevent them from getting Food Stamps. Eventually they will enter crime, but I would wager since we’ve all been indoctrinated against the Evils Of Drugs ( just say no! ), to avoid that stigma our newly starving will go for more traditional crimes such as burglary. They can fool themselves into believing they are Robin Hood, stealing only from the rich. Those left with some possessions will rightly want to arm themselves to protect what is theirs. Plus, the real scumbags, to avoid the new competition, might go for smash and grabs or more violent activities. Again, it only makes sense to arm yourself as the collapse gets closer.

Alas, once you apply for a concealed weapons permit, you automatically appear on every police computer list. You are the first scheduled for confiscation. And, I would wager that if yet ANOTHER contrived assassination occurs, the police will be on Double Top Secret alert and have trigger fingers as they come around for your guns. Applying for a concealed permit is painting yourself with a bullseye. So, what to do? You can up and move to a handful of open carry states, or one of two no-permit concealed states. Good luck with that, between not being able to either sell your house or finding another job. There really is no good solution. You need the protection but don’t want to expose yourself to the State. And you don’t want to break the law. The Militia folks can puff up their chests, full of righteous indignation, proclaim themselves Mighty Independent Freemen, and cry out, “better tried by twelve than carried by six”. I snicker. If you are tried, you will go to jail, you will get AIDS from being brutally gang raped ( this assumes the assault doesn’t kill you outright ) and you will die anyway. You can’t take the risk of jail, being stuck behind bars when the collapse comes. Read your Lucifer’s Hammer and ask yourself if you feel lucky enough to get a decent cop like the one that let out all but the serial killer.

I don’t think there is a good answer outside moving to a small town and trying to go out of your property as little as possible. Inside the perimeter is foxholes, hot chow and safety. Outside is Charlie. If Johnny Law wants it nearly impossible to protect yourself outside your home, try to stay home. I would not live where you didn’t have, at minimum, a right to have a rifle in your truck and a knife on your hip for the times you did have to venture into town. Far from perfect, problematic in and of itself ( how do you make a living? How do you get supplies safely? ) I still feel that is a better solution than living in the middle of the jungle, fearfully clutching at a token defense, hoping your good paying job will last long enough to buy your perfect retreat.
