Yesterday I had a minion e-mail me. This shows a bit of class, not admonishing me in the public comments section. Basically, he was tired of me complaining of the ex-wife, perhaps erroneously thinking I had spewed all of my venom. I’m no where close, and so far removed from the pure art that was the Mohave Rat’s tirade against his ex that I’m ashamed of myself. Okay, he had a good point. You got to pay for it one way or another. Sex is never free. And I think females should be the first to agree with me. If the last few generations of women’s equality has taught us anything it is that when the cow gives the milk away for free it is hard to get anyone to hang around to feed the thing. But this of course misses several points. First, I paid a horrible inflated price for each act of copulation. At least a grand a pop, three times the going brothel rate ( and it would have been four or five times factoring in inflation ). I’ve been cheated just on that point alone. I think a 60% tax rate is a bit over the top no matter how you look at it ( okay, 20% went to Bush and Obammy, but still, 40%?? ). But forget that. You’ve heard it a hundred times before. More importantly, you have to realize I can’t be jovial, happy, forgiving and optimistic. By my very nature of being suspicious, cynical, paranoid and mistrusting you are allowed a rare window into the future darkly. I can’t be all that and not also be hating, vengeful, complaining and imploring of the gods for justice. You have to take one with the other. Today’s article does celebrate yet again the vindication of my fear-mongering. But more on that in a minute.

I don’t know if Commander Zero reads me or not. He could have been responding to one of Creekmore’s rare slips when he bashed Yuppie Survivalists ( Creekmore is a nice guy and tries not to offend anyone other than those that have truly pissed him off- thank goodness because I want the crown of Grumpy Old Prepper all to myself ). But in his last two posts ( Commander Zero, not Creekmore ) he has proudly worn the self imposed title of Yuppie Scum Survivalist. You simply have to admire someone that stands against his critics with pride and defies them in such a manner. He wrote to the effect of, “Being the Yuppie Scum Survivalist that I am, I own a deep freeze for buying meat in bulk”. I mean, this guy must have ten grand worth of magazines alone for all his semi’s. He might even be King Of Yuppie Survivalists. And he is proud of it. You go!

I want to share a short story with you. I have a co-worker that is a Hippie throw back. She doesn’t try at it, she lives it naturally. I think she was born that way. A really cool gal. For awhile she’s been thinking about land to buy. Being a single mom working part time and receiving no child support, she has had real motivation. Rents in town are pretty high, everyone sponging off the minors incomes. For less than two years rent in town she is financing a lot and a motor home to park on it. A single mom with more than a few kids. Poor. And she is moving out to junk land in a trailer. No excuses. She’s done it in the space of a few months nosing around for the best deal. I know this won’t motivate anyone, but it should.

Two minions e-mailed me with links this morning on the Wiki Link story of Saudi Arabian reserves overstatement. Two e-mails constitute a flood of interest. I usually don’t get one minion mail a day, period. And George Ure covered it. I think Rawles did also. Everyone is covering it. It is big news to everyone that thinks the oil will never run out. Now, I bumped my regular article I had already pre-posted for today to comment on it. Not because I have anything new to add, but because I had to gloat while this was fresh in your mind. And to also add a “danger, Will Robinson” note to it. Look, this wasn’t news I made up or discovered myself. I got this from the irrefutable source “Twilight In The Desert” by Simmons. I just have been hammering away at it for years as you all ignored me. I’m not a prophet, but I am a champion nagger ( which, see above note, also includes complaining ). I see danger, I alert you and I remind you repeatedly how to cheaply insulate against some of the shock. No one concerned about Peak Oil ever doubted these facts. I’m sure some are surprised how long it took to become public knowledge. Saudi Arabia has pumped almost past the point of the average long life of any oil producing region. It is a miracle they haven’t declined further ( I’ve been reminding you they are making up for the shortfall by pumping out in the ocean, tying up a large portion of globally available rigs ). I don’t find this stuff out myself. Others are much more talented ferreting it out. I just compile it and spread the alarm to fellow survivalists. Now, let’s talk about the timing of the leak and the figures quoted.

Does anyone else think it a bit fishy that this was leaked as Egypt was melting down and threatening to take the rest of the middle east with it? Why now, just as the House Of Saud was in danger? Are they trying to soften the blow of a 10% global oil decline by letting us know those boys were almost out of oil anyway? I kind of suck at analyzing strange events, such as the off California missile launch. But I do know when I smell something that ain’t kosher. I think this is one of them. Also, don’t you believe the 40% figure. They over reported reserves far more than that. No proof, but I believe that this falls into the old ploy of “report a slight figure to cover up a far worse one” kind of like when the CIA tried to cover up news of attempts at brainwashing by LSD by selling it as “agents out of control” and “we never seriously tried, just goofing around”. Admit to buffoonery to cover up evil intent. Kind of like when the idiots reported five thousand barrels a day of oil spill in the Gulf instead of admitting to 50k or 100k or whatever the number actually was. Kind of like they admit to 9% unemployment when it ain’t too hard to figure it is at least twice that. If not three times. I don’t think many states have that low of unemployment, so it isn’t hard to figure the nation as a whole doesn’t either. They really think we are raving idiots. And if they think we are so stupid, they have a reason for leaking those oil reserve “facts”. They think we will suck it up happily like a first grader with a juice box at snack time. But just ignore me again. No need to panic. All is well.
