CORN DEATH
Most of my minions strangely take the time to show up every day but won’t take two minutes to share their latest paranoid delusions, mental meanderings or burning questions. They think to themselves, self, I don’t want to be reading this free drivel PLUS take the time to do this guys job for him and come up with article ideas. Which just goes to show how short sighted these people are, since they would be helping themselves out by helping me. It would be like their own free
survival
consultation. Some of you get it. You freely share ideas with me. Most I don’t use, but you keep your nose to the
grindstone
and keep feeding the insatiable beast. Thank you. Some of you throw ideas my way, and as an added bonus you dust off the cobwebs in your wallet, er, I’m sorry, your wallet you have to “borrow” back from the wife, and donate to the cause. The cause being I’ll eventually give up spreading my wisdom CAUSE ain’t nobody paying me. Today’s article is thanks to a minions idea. What if they are wasting the corn on purpose to increase instability and accelerate the die-off?

Damn good question. Any elaborate
conspiracy
based on the
illuminati
staging events for a One World Government are really just so much horse hookey. To what benefit would overall government control to the whole globe be? If you control economics, resources and the dominant military force, why would you need to establish a centralized government? What is the point? To brag about how cool you are and how you’re the first guy around to control all of the land surfaces? You are too busy wallowing in young nubile flesh, counting the
gold coins
in your treasure room and getting fresh fried crocodile served to you by your own
French chef
. Not that you will ever be rich enough, but you are far too busy accumulating more wealth to waste your time with total world domination. These guys already control everything worth controlling. And conflict builds their wealth. If everyone was peaceful and under control, there would be endless administration involved in keeping them continuously increasing their standard of living. But if there are political independent units, they will fight each other for control of whatever table scrapes of wealth you leave them. Decentralized governments feed your wealth, centralized ones bleed it.
*
A
conspiracy theory
that makes sense because it fits human nature is much better. If the powers that be catered to another groups greed, and benefited in their hidden agenda incidentally, that is believable. Let’s say that you are facing a lose of control of your dominant
global currency
because you’ve simply debased it far too long. And to add insult to injury you’ve exploded your credit availability to any breathing fool and created such a bubble that it threatens to poison the entire worlds market. Your natural tendency would be to try to diversify out of that currency. Which I think pretty much explains why our country has seen decreasing control over oil supplies for the last five years. To get away from the dollar. So, we invade a country that sits in the middle of all our potential enemies or potential rival petroleum customers. Then we occupy a country with the last huge pool of possible oil left ( we think- I wonder if it will be as “lucrative” as the Caucasus region-ie, not very ). This slows the hemorrhaging.
*
But you aren’t done. You can’t stay with a steady
decline of oil
because your entire economy is dependent on growth. Natural gas is already being turned into liquid fuel by using it to heat
tar sands
in Canada. The only thing left to do, besides pushing the fantasies of alternate energies on to the public to distract and confuse them, is to start substituting
ethanol
for gasoline. But not because it is another fuel. No, corn has anywhere from a zero to a negative return on energy invested. It makes you money, being taxpayer subsidized, but it doesn’t replace dwindling oil supplies. Remember, the global supply has peaked, and stumbled down slightly despite an initial huge exploration push ten years or so ago ( until the oil companies discovered it was a waste of money ). Global oil is down a few percent, but your oil imports are down 20%. Because your currency ain’t what it used to be, plus neither is your military. Folks are slowly switching alliances both economically and geopolitically. But here is the important part. If you take half the US corn off the market, you create a huge global hunger problem. You are creating instability which not only makes you rich but far more importantly takes oil demand off the table elsewhere. This isn’t about getting more oil as much about slowing the rate of decline.
*
Oil supplies are in decline as demand goes up. Not because every Chinaman wants a car as much as there are now so many people to feed and water. That exponential growth is in its last few years really shooting up demand just for the basics. Not for a
middle class
lifestyle, but just the basics. If every country kept more of its own energy production just to feed its own population, there would be that much less flowing into the US. Okay, so these countries aren’t selling us much if any oil. But now grain prices have doubled, so in desperation they must sell oil to China or India, aborting their own farming plans for self sufficiency in food, raise capital and buy grain from us. And as a bonus, these regions are plunged into war and conflict. Which decreases population. And keeps some oil in the ground for future use. I would wager that we are withholding enough grain from the world to increase chaos and war so we can manage to hold on to some kind of control as long as possible. And guess if our controllers care how the US is affected?
*
The US is a worthless carcass to these
jackals
now. We are still well off in resources, but with too many people around for that wealth to even keep stability. Remember, add in at least 10% to our population because of the encouraged
illegal immigration
. I wouldn’t be surprised if the true numbers weren’t close to 350 million hungry mouths. We destroyed half our corn crop for political control ( okay, more like trying to better manage the triage of our economic corpse ), and we have far less of everything else, from useable infrastructure, ore, fertile soil, etc. Don’t think your 401k, your home equity, your pension or any other form or wealth or promised help is going to survive the general population getting less resources so our controllers can hold on to power as long as possible. The collapse began some time ago. The only thing to debate is the rate of decline. If you think you are smart enough to keep your wealth intact during an oil down event, you are delusional.

I heard a number of interesting commentaries on the radio today from the "average Joes" of America indicating that people in the U.S. simply want the federal government to "do something" about the higher gas prices (that is, magically make them lower).
The elephant in the room every time I hear a government spokesman address such questions, is that the price is not every going back down to sub $3/gallon gas. It is headed up to $5/gallon in short order. There are no easy fixes, but no one from the government seems willing to simply say "The world supply of oil is in decline and the demand worldwide is up. We all need to adapt to this reality."
So, exactly what proportion of the population is living in this dream world?
Wow Jim,
This is probably your scariest post ever.
It rings really true.
This post really does make sense and is probably closer to the truth than TPTB want you to be.
Don't sit in any hot tubs. How's your heart doing.
Idaho Homesteader
Lord Bison,
Very well-written and impressive article today. It seems so obvious to me that this is an attempt to spread our empire via food riots in order to secure the last of the oil.

If a person owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way down to the center of the earth?
What happens if you go on a survival course - and you don't pass?
What if you're in hell, and you're mad at someone, where do you tell them to go?
Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?
Who suggested this article idea? I'll rat them out in a second if I get tortured by the CIA. Assuming I've spilled the beans.
You want us to pay you for this?

Speaking of death..........
Is Texas legislature morally responsible for the murder on campus of a CHL holder if they deny permission to go armed?

What are the ninnies, wussies, pussies and geldings in Texas legislature doing? They have not passed CCW on campus law for the same reason that steers do not make baby cows. 2011 session ends May 30.
My emails to Gov Perry and Rep James White were not answered. I got a reply from the office of State Sen Robert Nichols alleging that Sen Nichols will keep my views in mind when he votes. I was so thrilled
I wet my pants.
No elected official -- not even Gov Rick Perry who shoots from the hip and slays coyotes before breakfast -- has guts enough to say if they will
vote YES or NO on CCW on campus.

Insightful post today.
There is wisdom in the advice to invest in tangibles. If you don't hide them, however, they will be taken. You'll have to hide yourself, as well. If you can make it through the die-off, you might have a chance.
Like the teacher in Karate Kid said, "best defense- no be there".
106- amazing, isn't it, how fast some folks change their mind about whether writing is worthy if they only have to pay if they like it.
Jim, have you seen this?

IMF warns of oil scarcity and a 60% oil price increase within a year.
What's your take on this blog entry http://americanenergycrisis.blogspot.com/2011/04/you-cant-get-little-bit-pregnant-or.html
A veggie garden isn't much help I guess but I don't have room for cows, pigs, etc..
I'm growing lots of potatoes, kamut wheat, beans, and experimenting with quinoa grains out back behind my shack.
Vegetables and berry bushes are good for vitamins and minerals, potatoes and grains are good for calories.
Gardening is doomed? I guess when the marauding biker hoard shows up they'll take all my potatoes then I'll be in trouble. Maybe store them in sealed buckets underground.
Jim,
You need to update your page a little and make it known you're taking advertisers. I state on my About page that I DON'T take any, but still get an offer or so a month. You could charge ~$25 a month for an image/link in a sidebar and sell several. Maybe an extra $100-200/month. And you could still link whore for Amazon.
There's a suggestion. How about an answer on cooking your wheat.
hey jim about time for an update on how the generator is doing.has it made life better enuf to justify the costs? gary in bama
So we are now finally starting to get to the Economic Standard that I've been advocating for decades: A Bushel of Grain for a Barrel of Oil. You want to keep your Starving Masses from taking your head off while screaming Allahu Ahkbar, Oil Sheik? Send over the Light, Sweet Crude. And Remember this: An American can eat his Wheat, while You can't eat your Oil.
This also explains why the Chicoms are buying every damn piece of farmland and oil well they can get their hands on, and paying for it in Useless, Devalued Dollars. But hey, what does some Dictator care if they Bankrupt and Starve their People? They got their Villa on the Riviera, Baby!
Got Wheat?
Well articulated, my friend. Are the more frequent 'trolls' commenting an indicator of an acceleration in the collapse?
SS- sorry, I easily forget. I'm trying to get all my heat from solar because the sage brush will be used for cooking. My solar cooker attempt barely works, I need to make a better one. I won't buy a commercial unit, way too expensive for a glass toped insulated box.
Gary- I'm only running the gennie once or thrice a month. I look at it as writing
insurance, but it is expensive.
432-look on the comments on that article, I contributed a bit of my drivel. He has a point about gardening being overhyped as survival tools. You do need animal protein and grains to replace all your groceries ( if veggies get too expensive, eat sprouts-if grains and protein gets too expensive, what does the gardener do then? ).
