GUEST ARTICLE
My regular article will appear at its regular time.

Savor it.

Much of what is said here does not apply to our idol and guru, Mr. Daken. However....

If you are like most Americans, you shower on a regular basis. For some the shower is a wake up call in the morning. One of your first steps in preparing to face the world and take on the jobs of the day. For others it is a signal to the end of the work day, a time to wind down and prepare to relax for the rest of the day until bedtime.

Many people take time in the shower to think. Regardless of what this time means to you or why you shower, chances are it is more than just hygiene. If it were truly just about getting clean, you would be in there about two minutes, tops.

However, I am going to ask you to do one more thing when you shower. Savor it. If you are a prepper (which I imagine is why you read this blog), then you are aware that something could happen tomorrow which may mean a long time before you get to bathe again. An earthquake could shut off water mains. A firestorm could drive you from your home. Economic collapse could spell the end of utility service.

Take this thought and apply it to everything you do on a daily basis that would be interrupted by your own version of SHTF. As you drink your latte, drive to work, buy fish and chips for lunch, smoke a cigarette, browse your favorite websites, buy a gift for your significant other, watch some mindless TV show or even sleep comfortably in your own bed with the furnace or air conditioner running.... savor it.

We all admit (with at least a little piece of our minds) that it could all end tomorrow.

Enjoy it while you can.... you may not have it tomorrow, or you may choose to no longer participate in whatever activity as you ready yourself. Regardless, we take too much in life for granted....
