OBAMMA BAIL OUT
Okay, I can’t claim originality here, but I’m at least going with “flash of obvious”. I was reading our good buddies Of Two Minds blog Thursday morning,
http://www.oftwominds.com/blogjuly11/promises-not-kept6-11.html
and was enjoying the stark math behind all the old bastards about to lose their free medical welfare ( you little whippersnapper! I earned every penny! I’m entitled! I’m part of the
Greatest Generation
!- I just decided to say it all for you so we can move on ). Well, my gloating was short lived, because it occurred to me that the old bastards aren’t going to lose their medical benefits. Well, they will, but I’m also going to lose another chunk of my paycheck to ALSO not get medical benefits. The Obammy Universal “It’s For The Children” Health Care Mandatory Insurance is not, and let me repeat myself here because you fools never pay attention, NOT about bailing out the medical industry. It is NOT about providing needy people with insurance. It is not about bailing out the insurance industry. It might accomplish all those things, but its primary goal is to bail out Obammy and the fed governments colossal, unpayable, unsustainable Medicare program.
*
The first question I would of course have asked myself is, why not just pull the plug on the program and let the old bastards die and save a bundle on Social Security also? I know you are all starting to snivel and wail and pointing quavering fingers in my direction and thinking I’m a heartless
monster
for daring to suggest something like this. Hey, if it wasn’t for federal government medical programs I wonder if my parents would still be alive. I’m not saying the ideal behind the program isn’t nice and fuzzy. I’m saying that the last time I checked we lived in a Constitutional Republic which until the creation of the
Federal Reserve Bank
engaged in NO welfare of any kind. Even wounded soldiers, those who slaughtered anyone trying to voluntarily leave the Union, got ( if I’m not mistaken ) a severance pay rather than a medical pension. The founders and most of the politicians for a hundred years opposed any kind of “compassionate spending”. They knew that once you opened that Pandora’s Box everyone would be suckling at the tit. Please don’t tell me your problems and why you need to be on welfare. I know it is a valid reason. I’m on indirect welfare myself through grants for the Food Bank where I work. Almost everyone is dependent on the federal government in today’s economy. But the simple reason it was opposed for so long is that all Ponzi schemes must end.

Only through the insane amount of free energy that petroleum gave us could we have put most of the economy on the
public purse
. Now that the energy is contracting, and hence our economy, so too the welfare state must contract. ALL programs will eventually be cut in real terms, and in fact have already been in the process of for several years. When the Fed Bank revs up inflation and the Fed Government eliminates Cost Of Living raises for Social Security, in reality that is a cut in entitlements. Now, Medicare is far, far worse fiscally speaking than Social Security. That poses the most immediate threat to the operating budget. Solution A is to force everyone to pay more taxes to keep the program afloat. For the simple fact that the central bank will allow absolutely no scaling back in borrowing which would threaten their income stream from interest payments on the government debt. If you “follow the money”, almost certainly the
JFK
assassination was all about eliminating an enemy of the bank.
*
In today’s environment, you can’t raise taxes. So, you force a “benefit” down people’s throats. Rather than raise the rate of Medicare tax ( which wouldn’t raise enough no matter how much you took ), you force everyone into a universal health care. Then you don’t have to bail out the Medicare debt, an impossibility, you just eliminate that obligation by instead offering an alternative that doesn’t cost as much. Because universal health care means taxes to pay for bad service no one is eligible for. Soon, medical education might be free, but probably not, but doctors wages will be capped at a very low level ( as will nurses, etc. ),
malpractice
subsidized by the government, and everyone will get equally poor service. Just like in England or Canada, but a uniquely American version that, just like elsewhere, privatizes a lot of the profit but pays for the losses through public funds. Almost socialized medicine. Not to “help” patients but to help the federal government eliminate most of its off the books obligations that threaten our solvency.

On other news, a big hoorah on wood fiber used in food as a filler. So? I can live with wood pulp. It’ll help clean out the colon. Far worse is the
genetically modified foods
we’ve been swilling down for twenty years, “food” that was barely tested for safety, if at all. Hell, go out shopping at the mall. Notice the really bizarre shapes humans are taking. I don’t buy completely into the “modern obesity”. Americans have been doing less and less and eating more and more for many generations. Some part, small or large I don’t know, can surely be blamed on unreal food we recently starting consuming.

According to
http://libertariananimal.blogspot.com/ we’ve dodged the bullet another year as far as bad weather and our crop yields. But I wonder. If more and more acres were planted, but more than usual are producing marginal yields, are we out of the woods yet? Are the flooding dangers completely gone? Are there other global areas still losing yield from weather? Obviously, as has already been shown, a lack of our grain causes financial and military consequences that blow back on us quickly. It isn’t just the lack of bulk grain for our stockpiles, but gasoline prices, etc. Stay the course, don’t relax your paranoia.

Every time I hear/read about how 'my', 'the greatest generation', being to blame for all today's ills, I have to chuckle.
My Honey and I were talking- well, SHE was talking, I was listening- about how 'my' generation really screwed the pooch on this society. She's always felt older people were to blame (I have 30 years on her).
So I had to ask the obvious.
"If you've known and thought about this for so long, why haven't you done anything about it before now?"
So, in all fairness, the 'Now' and 'Me' and 'Gen-X' are as much to blame as any person from the 40's and on. Seriously: it's just the liberals who want to blame others for the problems they allowed through their negligence and slovenliness.
Excellent article, just to leave my 2 cents worth, talked to the VA yesterday to see when I can see a doc, turns out to be almost 3 weeks, but have to go get blood work done before that
It has been interesting watching you slowly lose your mind over the last 4 1/2 years but it appears it is coming to an end.
If ever there was a man who needed some bourbon, a cheap hooker and cable t.v. you my friend are it.
You have published for all the world to see the evidence of your mental decline. your delusions of grandeur and endless feelings of persecution are there for all to see.
At least the unabomber had a frigging cabin! If you were writing about your minimalist survival experiment with the intention of publishing a book, so you could pay for the bourbon, hooker and cable then it would make sense but to live your way, ignore everything available to make better, quicker preps, refuse to maintain a good used car,is not proving anything except your own self hatred.
here's a thought, go rent a motel room, play with the electric light, enjoy the endless supply of hot water, try HBO or Showtime, go to a cafe and eat meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy and pie, then get on your bike and pedal out to your hole.
see what I mean?
You can have my check when you pry it from my cold dead fingers! ~ And judging from all the bad pills and bad gmo "food's," that really shouldn't take too long... Or be too hard...
I just wonder when/if any of my fat 'ole peers will get upset, because the too-big-to-fails got bailed out and we didn't? If they do, it'll be too little too late! But since they've Ozzie and Harrieted themselves to their lifestyles, I just think they'll quietly go mad while they dine on fluffy the cat. Or the dry cat food...
I was told other day about the "cuts" from a gal I visit sometimes. "They are gonna stop our checks!" And she looked at me, like what would you do? ...
I told her, I'd hire on as a security guard! I already got my 1000 yard stare! Might as well get some meals/rent for it! ~ I've already started asking, and it seems many folks would hire me too!
I've got my second year of beans/wheat started, and I have beansoup every week. I eat out of my yard... For me at least, my life will be about the same. - Until my supplies run out & they will.. - But for the many zombie-tards that DEPEND on "fook banks" and handouts, life will be bread-lines and media circuses.
I know my time is short. I understand that we all fear death. But it happens to everyone. Sure I'll get out of the way! But let me get some raiders first.

Added later... because the blog posting thingy didn't work.
Food Stamp prepping! Simply buy a LOT of beans and rice with them! Don't buy crap... chips and "fun" foods. Buy serious foods! That "benefit" won't last forever! Buy your foods wisely, while you still can! Shop around, sometimes $tores have better deals, sometimes they don't. Be sure to do math when buying big packages! They are sometimes NOT the better deal. Some often have the illusion of a good deal... When tshtf, you'll be glad you bought those dry beans instead of ice cream.

Ok, so I said that... I have an Idea for a topic for you...
HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET GAMER KIDS TO SEE REALITY? Soon their life will be shit! Even the smart ones are slow witted! Ain't got no sense! They would rather buy a game and eat pizza than stock up on beans! You can get 3/4 months of food for the cost of one game!
Yeah, them dang young punks are doomed... But Jim, you've offered us some hope before, what do YOU say about it?
Can't save em all, sooo easy to take care of yourself now tho.
Next year ? Who knows.
Beans, Rice and grain first.
Then the trimmins.
At the same time, fill that worthless skull of mush ! It's got tons of storage space. Unlimited memory capacity. Just kinda slo.
I just want to respectfully disagree with the Mohave Rat comment from a bit earlier.
This blog article was quite refreshing compared to all the other run-around analysis that I've been reading on the Al Gore-invented Interweb about entitlements and the like.
MedicAid And MediCare are two programs that have undoubtedly helped many people (indeed, I have an Uncle who is greatly helped by MediCare today). However, the whole system is based on somebody eventually having to pick up the big check (and I'm talking about the National Debt here).
I'll also add that my romanticized vision of America does not contain 50% of the working population receiving their paychecks from the government, nor does it include the fantasy that everybody that got old or disabled gets a free ride.
Call me a hard-knock or a sour-apple, but if you actually created a life that was worth a shit, those closest to you would work hard to take care of you when the chips are down. Likewise, in your years of youth, one should strive to take care of those older than them when they have become infirm.
It should not be the government's job to take care of people just because they got old or they got sick.
Worse yet, I think it is totally wrong that the government actually pretends that they'll be able to offer these same benefits to the teens, twenty-somethings, and thirty-somethings of today when these groups all hit the age 65.
Every time that Uncle Sam pulls money out of a young people's paycheck in the name of benefits that they claim the young person will one day receive, it is a big fib!
Now, is Barack's healthcare plan a way to bailout MedicAid and MediCare? I dont know if I agree with his Royal Hairness on that one. IMHO, the healthcare plan is just another way of trying to get the liberal constituents to believe that there is a better entitlement plan out there.
The sad fact is that 90% of entitlements are crap. There are a few exceptions, but in general, people just need to accept the fact that they will die sooner rather than later.
The "Greatest Generation" is the generation who fought in WW2, not the deadbeats born after 1940.
Ignore the money. Charles mixes and matches his charts to the extent that you can't follow his logic in any case.
The money does not matter because you can't have 1/2 your population retired, being supported by the other half who's wages have stagnated since at least the 10980s. It does not matter what the green paper says, it's what is produced. And last I checked we still need to hand over some of what we produce (food for one) to other people so that we can get their oil.
