Diane “I’m The Oldest Bitch On The Planet And My Wages Are In Depends And My Voice Is Lucifer’s Own” Reem on Nation Pravda Radio was blathering drivel today ( Sept. 1st ) on FEMA and how they are now the mostest wonderfulness because a new idiot politician is in charge and how despite all you meanies that hate our Savior Obammy, FEMA is here to save the day because you know, I know, and presumably Ross Perot knows if he hasn’t already been knocked off by a North Korean Ninja Death Squad, only a federal agency is capable of distributing tarps, water and food. The states, back during the 70’s, got all weepy and butt hurt that they couldn’t afford to pay for disaster relief as the American economy went into a oil deprived tailspin and hurricanes struck or what not, so they said, hey, the FedGov has been shoving the Big Green One up our back door without lub and breaking it off for about a hundred years now, let those whores pay for these disasters. They don’t believe in states rights, they can pay all the bills. And the fedgov, never one to miss an opportunity to borrow more money from the central bank, each politician trying to outdo the other so the bankers would visit them at night and put a reelection fund under their pillow, said to themselves, hey, we already have FEMA to place the remaining population under martial law after a nuke war, let’s use them to provide disaster relief. That was pretty much the birth of the velvet glove over the iron fist. The grape Kool Aid to make the fascist poison easily swallowed. Well, now that the fedgov is having money problems, it seems that the political football is being tossed back to the states.

Just as pretty much all the wannabe politicians are spewing against any money to the underclass ( which turns out to be all but the top 10% ) such as Perry for privatizing Social Security ( translation- forcibly pay bankers from your paycheck where, believe it or not, it will disappear faster than if the feds had gotten it ), they are now trying to push ALL liabilities off on to the state and local government. The federal government spends about 25% of the economy ( aboveboard, who knows how much extra is a secret stimulus ) and yet all they can manage to pay for is the interest on the national debt and the multiple wars overseas. Social Security has been effectively cut at least ten percent ( not paying the Cost Of Living Allowance as food and fuel costs soar ). Medicare will be folded into ObammyCare and all citizens will pay for nationalized medical care where they all wait on lists for care until whatever illness kills them. Section Eight housing was frozen for a time ( and it was already a joke with over a year waiting list ). The commodities food program is down to about 20% of the normal food it was giving out. And now, FEMA is complaining that, by gum, it is almost out of money and they sure wish these inconvenient disasters would stop taking place. The Congress will hem and haw and fiddle jerk around so long appropriating more money that either the locals pony up money and hope to get compensated, or folks will die.

Look, I hate welfare of all kinds. Not because I want to see people suffer, or that they don’t have genuine needs, but because it turns into a huge centralized dictatorship, the worthy people on the dole, the enemies of the state denied and help. No, you can’t just cut it after getting people hooked, after misleading them over a lifetime. And I think FEMA is unnecessary, as if someone can’t stockpile a tarp and some food before hurricane season, they are Darwinistic rejects. BUT. There will always be prepared people that still need help after bad luck. So I can see the need for disaster relief and welfare. I wish it were private, but we are stuck with the present system. I don’t agree with that system, but I also don’t agree with abandoning people in time of need. Which is what the federal government is already doing. As they borrow more and more for their two pet projects, borrowing from bankers to occupy more oil producers, they are quickly and methodically cutting basic relief to the poorest of society. How can you argue the collapse isn’t well under way when the government is triaging? No one blames the lost purchasing power of a Social Security check forcing a sick geriatric to cut back on his winter heat and dying as a result. No one blames increased crimes on less welfare feeding a family ( it doesn’t matter if it was a lazy crackhead welfare queen, the results are the same ). No one pays attention to the stranded towns from flooding, where one helicopter delivery of MRE’s and tarps doesn’t do squat to feed people past a few days. We are treating all our disaster zones just like we did the Indonesia Tsunami. Highly visible one time supply missions, Victory Over Hunger!, and then nothing.

The time is running out for the Welfare State. Every kind, from pensions to food. That is obvious and not really worth comment. What should concern you is that soon, you too will be denied. No Food Stamps, less unemployment, whatever. And, the segments of society prone to riot, will. Not sometime in the hazy future, but very, very soon. The fedgov isn’t even trying to hide its diminishing help anymore. A tribe is composed of individuals that help the helpless. You give, because someday you need to take. When a national government fails the helpless ( even those it turned helpless through greed and stupidity ), it no longer is a tribal surrogate and will soon be replaced by an organization that WILL care for those in need.
