Big hugs and little kisses to Jeff, you beautiful bastard, for the very generous donation. Not being greedy, and sharing some of your Greenbacks, you have earned my approval, or, I should say so all the rest of the minions become agitated and jealous and start sending me gold coins and crates of HK-91’s, the Official Bison Stamp Of On High Approval. A lot of other folks, not so much. I just got done blowing a loud and wet raspberry to Netflix for their stupid price hike, and so along comes Bank Of America trying to earn the coveted Asshat Of The Year Award. You know, it is one thing when the local bike shop has to raise the price of their tubes 50%. I get it. To pay the rent, you must sell a ton of Super Deluxe Yuppie Scum Muscle Powered Conveyances. Since Yuppie Scum are getting squeezed from all sides they can no longer spend three grand on a computer designed aerodynamic bicycle, nor the matching Spandex tights with teardrop helmet ( and they wonder why cars try to run them over, wearing that gay looking crap ). Times are tough, money is tight, you are forced to raise prices. This is basic survival. Yet, it is another matter entirely when your bank throws in additional user fees to keep their profit margins up. That is just pure greed. Not even incompetence, which I despise but can understand. Pure D greed, plain and simple.
*
Being incompetent, and thus needing to squeeze your customers for more money, that is as American as apple pie. That is what your immature teenager does to you, but you don’t mind so much because hopefully they are life lessons ( my daughter, and remember what I told you about my kids being perfect and yours not so much, needed a slight monetary gift, but she is living on the beach, working in the profession of her choice, has an affordable new car and no school debt, is working two jobs to do it all on her own and is earning much more than she spends- I don’t mind at all the occasional help since she has it so together and learned all the lessons she needed from watching her two dumbass parents ). Most corporations, with well overcompensated CEO’s, run their businesses with far less common sense than my 19 year old daughter. But I can understand it because being a business major is pretty much welfare for the retarded. We pay to get a moron employed. Naturally, they are going to run the company into the ground. And I can’t really even blame them too much since their thought process pretty much mirrors the rest of the public educated population. Uh, duh, which way did he go, George? Uh, duh, resources don’t deplete, uh, duh, growth can last forever. Pure D stupidity.
*
Now, plain old greed on the other hand, that is inexcusable. Sure, bankrupting the bank, that was incompetence. But past a certain point, once you exercise your monopoly powers, incompetence is inexcusable. If I can choose to not do business with a company who is just stupidly greedy, I’m all good with them sucking in other customers. Apple customers can be fleeced all they desire. I used to be a Mac devotee, but after a few forced machine purchases when the OS was changed, I came over to the incompetent but serviceable Windows. The incompetence was cheaper, so I’m content. Now, when I can get competence and a cheaper price, wow!, what a treat. I’m specifically thinking of Amazon. I love you guys, and heck, I might even get a Kindle now that the price was lowered AGAIN. But getting back to greed enforced by monopoly, here we have Bank Of America. I loved the bank until just now. Fifteen years, with a year off for Y2K, of being a loyal customer, always having a slight cushion in the account that gave them free money to use, paying $7 a month for the privilege. Now, they are just being greedy. How much did these whores get in bailout money, yet they want to start charging me to use the debit card?
*
BofA is like any other bank. They are under the control of the Federal reserve, and they make a handsome profit at it. They have earned obscene profits since 1913, having the government monopoly over fractional reserve banking and fedgov interest paid on loans conjured out of thin air. They made gabazillions on inflation. So now they are going to turn around and cry poor? You ain’t poor, you are incompetent. But since you benefit from the monopoly, incompetence is no excuse. And even being stupid, you make so much off the monopoly, really all it really boils down to is that you are making less profit. You are greedy for more profit. At this point, I don’t care too much. By the time the fee increases go into effect, I’ll have $1500 in savings in the bank from my child support savings. My regular monthly fee will be waived and the debit card fee will be about the same. So for now, I can ignore this crap. But come next summer, as the child support issue is over and done with, I’ll take my money out of the bank ( assuming the ass licking toads are still in business and haven’t taken my money with them ), pay off the last of my debt and find another debit card. Greedy bastards don’t deserve my money. I had a bank account that wanted to charge me $12 a month to cash my paycheck that was drawn on that very bank. So instead, I go to the casino, cash the check there and tip the gals the same amount of money. Into a workers pocket instead of a greedy corporations. I don’t mind spending, if it is for a good cause.

Punish greed by withholding your money. It is the only way to “vote” for their demise.

And we keep voting the same crooks into office. It would be nice if this country decided to walk it's walk and tried some "capitalism". Those repugnicans sure smell like corporate socialist. I can't even stand the demoncratic smell. Oh lord bison when oh when will you smite these jackals?
Netflix did NOT raise their price! They just split the DVD and streaming into two seperate bills and enrolled everybody in both. If all you want is DVD's by mail, then it's the same price as before. Just go to your account and "uncheck" the streaming.
You're very welcome.
Ah Jim as a blogger that is on record speaking out against the federal reserve bank and most other stupid goverment crap why do you even have a debit card? The data trail it leaves tells anyone where you have been and what you purchased!Plastic is for idiots {i know you cant rent a car without one}.Other than a few thing you better off using cash.As i have stated before a debit card is 1 week and a computer program from a ration card.Did you read the FED is asking for bids for a internet and blog tracking company to log any negative stories and where it originated.Big brother has been here for a while now their getting scared.Sheeple are growing horns.
You can just buy your bike tubes on Amazon and they'll be just as good as the ones you get at the shop. Then, man up and get a set of those little blue tire levers and learn to use them (you hook one end to a spoke to hold it in place) and learn to swap out a tube yourself. Repair the one with a hole in it at home at your leisure. And, learn to use Slime. It's good enough for off road racing teams and the military, it'd good enough for your Wal-Mart junkwagon bike. $28 to have the shop fix a flat for you? I smell a yuppie.
Of course Netflix should recognize that you are superior to all. They should be sending you gifts and tributes because of your wonderful hairiness and tremble in awe at your proclamations.
However, as just a minion, I expect to pay. I personally have no problem with the price increase.
I have always received wonderful customer service from Netflix. Plus their customer service is based in Oregon so if I call for help I actually get a person who understands English.
What a novelty.
So I don't begrudge them the extra money. This is a free country. If there is someone who can do it better for cheaper, well bring it on.
One question, you are the guru of cheap, why do you allow BOA to take $7 every month for the honor of using your money? Aren't there any credit unions in Elko?
Idaho Homesteader
IH-$7 a month is cheap for checks and debit use. $13, not so much. I get paid electronically for my writing, so it is also good that way. Plus buying books. I DID like BoA service. But now... As a general rule, credit unions blow chunks on service. I'll check out their fees and compare.
If you pay even one penny to have a bank account, you are getting ripped off. Big time.
When you ask for support, it becomes much less compelling to us minions when we learn you bank at BofA and give $13 dollar tips to have a bike tire changed or a check cashed at a casino.
Yes, your hair is awesome. But your money management - not so much.
712- I can overspend on a few things because I save so much on others, like rent and utilities. You aren't supporting me for my day to day expenses, you are paying me for my writing. If it makes you feel better, you are buying the research books I use for my writing. I just said, a day or so ago, my expenses are half my take home pay. Paying attention?
Good stuff master. I'm debating what to do about the debit charge. While I carry cash, I do like the card use so I don't have to walk in to the gas station. may just make the walk. And you are right, I keep some funds in a credit union for my recreation and they are the worst in terms of service and accessibility to my funds. The reader 'mocking' you for credit card use blithely drives his GPS tracked vehicle everywhere. He's like a survivalist ninja ..invisible..stealthy..tracked!S.D.
